AgeForum 2003-2004 Annual Report

During the first period covered by the report AgeForum has dealt with new ageing research and with cooperation between relatives of infirm older people and old-age care workers. The Council also paid visits to three local authority institutions with old-age care services.
In the second period AgeForum dealt with Grandparents' contribution to children's development; voluntary social work; older people's conditions in the labour market and with the project "Physical activity in old age - health-related and financial aspects". The report contains brief descriptions of the themes and the visits.
The report furthermore contains short articles on international research results considered to offer important perspectives for Danish old-age care and Danish health and social policy. The articles concern rehabilitating aftercare of stroke patients at home, femoral neck fractures and rehabilitation, family as caregivers for stroke patients, the quality of care provided in last part of life, falls and various aspects of dementia ect.
